Job Purpose
Responsible for breeding nursery management from seed preparation, planting, field growth supervision, pollination to harvest in farm.
Coordinate the seed preparation, pollination and harvest for winter breeding nursery program.
Collect field data of the breeding nursery, make analysis and report.
Responsible for germplasm maintenance in farm.

Duties/Responsibilities
1) Summer breeding nursery management
 Assistant the research scientist to make nursery design and coordinate to prepare all the nursery seeds.
 Organize planting teams and realize the nursery plantings in high quality.
 Supervise the seedling thinning, density control and other field management practices.
 Organize and coordinate pollination works.
 Assist the research scientist for field selection.
 Organize and coordinate for nursery harvest, ear drying and shelling.
2) Winter breeding nursery management (Shandong program)
 Assistant the research scientist to make nursery design and coordinate to prepare all the nursery seeds.
 Coordinate and realize the nursery plantings in high quality (if on site).
 Coordinate pollination works.
 Assist the research scientist for field selection.
 Organize and coordinate for nursery harvest, ear drying and shelling (if on site).
3)Data collection & report
 Collect field observation data for each part of the nursery when necessary, including key growth stage date, lodging, diseases, pests and drought resistant performances, botanical and agronomic traits etc.
 Report the collected data to the scientist or company database in time, make analysis of those data when necessary (especially when the bias is obvious).
 Summarize the nursery works after the close of the season.
4)Germplasm maintenance
 Maintain all the harvest materials in a safe condition to prevent from being lost and damage.
 Keep the seeds in clear order and categories.
 Make clear record of the seed inventory and move-in/out.
 Update seed inventory database from time to time.
5)Local Research center development
 Contribute to the Shandong research center construction including irrigation system, warehouse, etc.
 Adopt new technologies to the related works.
6)Safety management
 Cooperate with the farm supervisor to implement necessary measures to prevent the farm, warehouse, etc from all kinds of hidden dangers.
 Responsible to stipulate the company safety roles when leading working teams in off-farm sites.
 To protect the company interior information and germplasm.

Educational qualifications
Master Degree on plant genetic and breeding preferably in corn breeding.

Competencies and Experience Desired
At least 2 years in working experience in plant breeding and agricultural industry.
Fluent written English communication skills
Well-organized with high attention to details
Very good computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Good team player and strong sense of professionalism
Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Good presentation skill
